1. Duke Nukem Forever - First Look Live Demo (Amsterdam Gaming Convention)
sequel to the 1996 game Duke Nukem 3D

The game’s expected to be released at some time in 2011. Looks pretty good actually. Multi-platform (Xbox 360, PS3 and Microsoft Windows)

  2. Doom 4

“Doom 4 is the upcoming multi-platform instalment of the Doom series by id Software. The game is neither a sequel to Doom 3 nor a reboot of the franchise. It will use the company’s new OpenGL powered id Tech 5 engine and was announced as in production on May 7, 2008, following speculation by John Carmack at QuakeCon on August 3, 2007.

There are suggestions that, like Doom 2, it will take place on Earth, and will feature gameplay more akin to the original Doom games rather than the horror styled gameplay of Doom 3.” - Wikipedia

By the looks of how the production dates have been going, looks like this’ll be a 2011 release or later at a guess. Still, I’m excited for it.

I did find that in Doom 3 that the horror aspect overshadowered the gameplay and first person shooter aspect of the game that was more prevelant in the previous games. So to hear that it’ll be more like the original games than the third is brilliant in my opinion.

And having it set on Earth should be good, though I did like the environments of Mars.

And the game is set for a simultaneous release on Windows, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. So whatever your platform, you get to join in on the Doom goodness.
